English Courses in London(12 weeks +)
We believe we are amongst the most cost effective accredited courses available in London and invite you to come and study with us.
A long course at WLA provides you with the opportunity to make a significant improvement to your English regardless of your starting level. It also enables you to experience “life as a Londoner” and become familiar with one of the world's major international cities.
A long English course leading to a University of Cambridge Exam will strengthen your CV/Resume and many employers will be impressed by a potential employee who has successfully studied abroad and can communicate effectively in the world’s leading international language.
...But it was its teaching method what most helped me to deal with a completely new lifestyle!
My classes at WLA were interesting and dynamic in a small and friendly classroom. Writing, reading and spoken English were taught with the same importance to improve the learning.
All our courses are 15 hours a week and cover all aspects of English Language Learning: grammar, writing, speaking and pronunciation, listening and reading. WLA classes are taught by trained teachers who are graduates with qualifications in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL).

Students from outside the EU
If you are from outside the European Union and require a visa please remember that you can study up to 24 weeks (6 months) on a student visitor visa (for many students this is the most practical option).
If you are a “non –visa national” you don’t have to have a visa to come to the United Kingdom. However you will need to show the immigration officer the evidence of enrolment on a course.
If you are a “visa national” you have to apply for a visa before travelling. Please visit www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/studyingintheuk/student-visitors for more information.
If you are from outside the European Union and thinking of studying for more than six months you have to apply for a Tier 4 (General) Student visa. It is a Points Based System and you require 40 points in order to receive a visa. This consists of 30 points for having a valid CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) and 10 points for showing that you can cover your course fees and living costs.
To issue you a CAS we need to see evidence that you have studied English before and you are able to follow a course at CEFR level B2 (for example an internationally-recognised certificate in English such as IELTS or TOEFL). In order to receive the ten points for maintenance you will need to be able to clearly show that you have held the required amount of money in your account for 28 consecutive days. This is divided into two categories:
Category One - Inner London
£800 for every month of study in inner London.
36 week Academic Year Course requires you to have £7,200 in your bank account
Category Two - Outside inner London
£600 for every month of study in outer London.
36 week Academic Year Course requires you to have £5,400 in your bank account
WLA is in Category Two (£600 per month) - Go to UK Visa Application
